Dr Sally Huni – Financial Literacy

Sally Huni (30); I prefer calling her Dr Sally, she did her masters at UWC now she is doing her PhD in Finance with Unisa.

She emphasized on Financial Literacy. Truth be told myself and people from my background rarely consider indepth understanding of finances, as long as we have a steady income we believe that we are sorted…

But then Dr Sally is set on changing all that; she believes its high time we become woke in terms finance handling regardless of your status in life or how much you earn.
For example; ‘you actually do not need to borrow money to spoil yourself or your loved one on their birthday, or borrowing money for your wedding expenses, rather you can start saving- okay ‘saving’ is big word; put aside small amount of money torwards the big day …’

She also emphasized on living within your means; Dr Sally said; ‘do not fake it until you make it, if you save for it first, then there won’t be any need for faking it…’

Thank you Dr Sally for the wise words and thank you for setting the bar and being a source of inspiration for young girls from our background!

Enjoy the read.
